About Pouya
Pouya Hosseini holds a Bachelor’s degree in Water Science and Engineering and a Master’s degree in Water Resources Management from Shahid Bahonar University of Kerman, Iran. His academic background has provided him with a strong foundation in water resources systems, environmental management, and sustainable development, with a particular focus on the integration of environmental sciences and agricultural practices.
He completed his military service as a skilled soldier at the Department of Environment, serving as an Environmental Monitoring Specialist. He later worked at the Sarcheshmeh Copper Complex as a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Specialist, gaining practical experience in environmental assessment and pollution control in industrial systems. He is the founder of Pouyamehr Biome Company, where he focuses on environmental impact assessment, pollution control, and sustainable farm management, particularly in pistachio production systems.

HSE
This study focused on the design and evaluation of an intelligent drip irrigation system for cherry tomato production under different moisture levels and superabsorbent treatments. Conducted in the greenhouse of Shahid Bahonar University of Kerman, the research demonstrated that the system effectively controlled soil moisture and that the application of superabsorbents mitigated water stress effects, improved plant growth, increased yield, and enhanced water use efficiency. The highest yield (40.23 t/ha) and water productivity (10.36 kg/m³) were obtained under full irrigation with superabsorbent application. In addition, the use of superabsorbents significantly reduced water consumption. The study also developed water production functions and evaluated artificial neural network models for greenhouse evapotranspiration estimation, showing that the Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) model provided higher prediction accuracy than the Radial Basis Function (RBF) model.
